Cooking and entertaining are two of my favorite pastimes. Nothing brings me greater joy than hanging at home with my favorite people, laughing, eating and spending quality time together - It's the best kind of therapy! A little music, some vino and good company makes the night complete as you create memories with those you love. Sharing a great meal while everyone is chatting and standing around the kitchen island.... my happy place!
I absolutely love food! I have changed the way I eat however over the years as some of my faves, just don't work for me anymore.
Stay tuned as I'm changing up family favorites and experimenting with new recipes - creating in the kitchen can be a blast and eating healthy doesn't have to be boring - just go for it!
Walking
Over 10 years ago I lost a childhood friend to breast cancer. In the aftermath of this horrific event I made a commitment with another dear friend to walk our first Susan G. Komen 60 mile 3 day in San Diego the following year.
I knew I would always want to be a part of these walks as it was a life changing event.
I've since completed 5 of these amazing walks and walking has been a permanent fixture in my life ever since. It is the best medicine after a stressful day, a great way to take in nature, visit with a friend, AND a fantastic way to keep in shape!
I love incorporating walking as much as possible on vacations and it's a great way to see the sights! If you are ever in NYC you gotta hit that Brooklyn Bridge!
Travel
I've always loved to travel, but as I get older it has become a necessity. Nothing brings me greater joy than travelling to new destinations and reliving memories from trips past, especially our family vacations where the stories live on. It is a great way to expand your mind, meet new people and just unplug from the day-to-day grind. There is soooo much to see and experience out there!
While I'm still working on mastering the art of packing (and journaling as good as my mom), I take great joy in the planning part of vacations, finding cool places to visit and just going with the flow wherever we are. There is nothing better for the soul than getting away from it all to unplug and reconnect with yourself and others.
Will be expanding this section to include some of my favorite places to visit and other travel and lifestyle tips, so check back soon ;o).
